Glencore Finance in London has nabbed the head of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein's proprietary structured credit trading desk in London, Evan Kalimtgis. It has also hired traders Phil Burford and Athanasios Stavrou, as well as junior team memberPanos Gevros, from Dresdner. Structured credit industry professionals speculate Kalimtgis has been hired to set up a structured credit hedge fund but Kalimtgis declined all comment on his new role at Glencore.
Glencore Finance is a unit of privately owned Swiss-based commodity trader Glencore International.
At DrKW, Kalimtgis reported to Bertrand Pinel, head of portfolio management. Pinel referred calls to Peter Fitzpatrick, spokesman, who declined comment on DrKW's hiring plans.
