Claude Baum, a partner at law firm Brown Rudnick, has joined hedge fund Ore Hill Partners as general counsel. Baum headed the distressed debt trading practice at Brown Rudnick and is also a member of the Loan Syndication and Trading Association serving on the Forms and Lawyers Committees and Cross-Border Working Group.
There has been a flurry of activity in the distressed debt world of late. Mark Brodsky and Adam Stanislavsky are raising money for a new firm called Aurelius Capital Management (LMW, 5/2). Angelo, Gordon & Co.'sJeff Aronson left last month to start his own fund and Satellite Asset Management's David Ford teamed up with Dave Sabath, formerly JPMorgan's head of proprietary credit trading for North America, to launch a hedge fund.
