ABN AMRO in London has hired Samuel Sibony, analyst in the leveraged finance origination team at CIBC World Markets in London, as an associate on the high-yield trading desk. He reports to former CIBC colleague Vincent Gomez, who joined ABN as the senior high-yield trader last spring (BW, 5/24/04). James Courtenay, head of European high-yield and leveraged finance, came from CIBC to build ABN's leveraged finance capability from scratch last year (BW, 3/15/04).
At CIBC, Sibony reported to Chris Rist, head of European leveraged finance and co-head of investment banking origination. Rist did not return calls by press time.
