Gary Reback has returned to Bear Stearns as senior managing director and head of agency collateralized mortgage obligation trading after a brief stint at Merrill Lynch. Terez Hanhan, spokeswoman for Merrill, confirmed Reback left this spring after only weeks at the firm but declined further comment. Renu Aldrich, spokeswoman for Bear, said Reback previously worked at Bear for four and a half years before deciding to retire in 2004. He later joined Merrill after some time out of the market.
Reback, who reports to Dan Spina, senior managing director and head of fixed-income research and analytics, did not return calls by press time.
