John Kaplan has left Citigroup to join Merrill Lynch. He will now report to Wylie Collins, head of debt capital markets at Merrill. He is currently on gardening leave and could not be reached. At Citigroup he was a managing director in corporate finance. Collins did not return a call or email and a Merrill spokeswoman declined comment. A spokeswoman at Citigroup also declined comment.
