Barclays Capital continued its hiring spree, grabbing two more from GE Capital, two more from Goldman Sachs, another from Lehman Brothers and one each from Bank of America and Citigroup. The bank has been building a leveraged finance platform for the last few months (CIN, 3/13, 3/24, 4/7), and has added to its financial sponsors, leveraged finance execution and high-yield groups. All hires will report to Joe McGrath and Rick Van Zijl, co-heads of U.S. leveraged finance. Neither Van Zijl nor McGrath were available for comment.
Peter Glaser and Todd Ragland join the financial sponsor coverage group, Glaser as a managing director and Ragland as an associate director. Glaser was previously a managing director in the financial sponsor coverage group at B of A. Ragland previously worked in the financial sponsor group at Lehman Brothers.
Peter Mackie and Christopher Rulon-Miller join as directors in high-yield sales. Both join from Goldman Sachs where they were vice presidents in high-yield sales.
The final three additions this week will be in the leveraged finance execution area. Douglas Kelly and Joseph Jordan both join from GE Capital, Kelly as a director and Jordan as an associate director. Kelly was a senior v.p. in GE's corporate restructuring group and Jordan was a v.p. Myles Kassin joins as an associate director in leveraged finance execution. He was previously a v.p. in leveraged finance structuring at Citigroup.
