HSBC has hired Jay Schwartz as a managing director responsible for leading the bank's loan syndication origination efforts in the Americas.

HSBC has hired Jay Schwartz as a managing director responsible for leading the bank's loan syndication origination efforts in the Americas. He reports to Michael McGovern, head of syndicated finance in the Americas. McGovern was not available for comment.

Schwartz joins from Wells Fargo, where he was a managing director in investment banking. He had previously worked at Bank of America and JPMorgan.

The bank had previously hired Nancy Del Genio as a managing director heading up the loan distribution effort in March. She also reports to McGovern (CIN, 3/20). She previously worked at Deutsche Bank as a managing director and sales manager. She left in May 2005 (LMW, 5/23).
