Three staffers have left UBS and are headed to Royal Bank of Scotland. As first reported on Credit Investment News' Web site Wednesday, Peter Tchir, an executive director, high-yield index trader, Gary Stanco, a managing director, high-grade bond salesman and Brett Brown an executive director, high-grade bond trader have all left. Brown and Stanco resigned Tuesday. It is unclear who will replace them and it is unclear what they will be doing and who they will be reporting to at RBS. A UBS spokesman confirmed the departures but declined further comment. An RBS spokesman did not return calls.
Calls to Brown and Stanco at their respective desks were referred to colleagues who said they had resigned. A call to Tchir's cell phone was not returned. Some in the market said that with ROS opening up a Stamford office, UBS could become an easy target and more hires may be coming.
