Goldman Sachs has hired Brian Zucker from Deutsche Bank Securities where he was a v.p. and high-yield trader. Zucker is believed to be an addition to Goldman's desk, rather than a replacement, according to traders at rival firms. Lester Brafman, head of high-yield trading at Goldman Sachs, did not return calls.
At Deutsche Bank, Zucker traded technology companies, retail, deathcare and commercial services. "He was a good trader and we wish him the best," says Steve Renehan, head of high-yield sales, trading and research at Deutsche Bank. Renehan declined further comment, but one Deutsche Bank official says Zucker's duties will be divided up among the existing traders.
