Putnam Investments has appointedCharlie McCarthy, a senior v.p., to fill one of two trading spots at the Boston money manager, which has $12 billion in high-yield assets. McCarthy replaces Peter Meyer, who joined Credit Suisse First Boston last month (BW, 7/20). McCarthy is a former trader at Putnam who had moved to a research role. He will retain his research responsibilities and no further hires are planned, saysSteve Peacher, portfolio manager at Putnam.
