Merrill, B of A Offer Financing For Dolan Buyout

Merrill Lynch and Banc of America Securities are offering to back Charles Dolan, founder of Cablevision Systems Corp., and his son James Dolan's bid to acquire the company for about $7.9 billion.

Merrill Lynch and Banc of America Securities are offering to back Charles Dolan, founder of Cablevision Systems Corp., and his son James Dolan's bid to acquire the company for about $7.9 billion. The proposal would spin off Rainbow Media Holdings, which includes Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks, the New York Rangers, and Radio City Music Hall. A spokesman for Cablevision had no comment.
