Last week, Ed Kearns left UBS and Jack Melnikoff left Goldman Sachs to join Barclays Capital.

Last week, Ed Kearns left UBS and Jack Melnikoff left Goldman Sachs to join Barclays Capital. Both were senior loan salesmen and are anticipated to take on similar roles at Barclays. Neither could be reached.

Barclays has also hired Anne Daley as a director and head of financial institutions, Americas syndicate. She was recruited by Mark Bamford, managing director and head of Americas syndicate. Daley and Bamford worked together at Goldman for about 16 years before he joined Barclays last summer.

"She has a very broad set of experiences and skill set, and has seen a lot of different transactions," Bamford said about the decision to hire her and join a number of other Goldman alums at the bank. Joe McGrath and Rick Van Zijl, who head U.S. leveraged finance, joined from Goldman and have taken a number of former colleagues with them (CIN, 3/10). Kearns worked at Goldman as well, leaving in 2003 after 16 years.

Barclays also brought on Laurent Rimmen as a director in fund derivatives sales in the investor solutions group. He joined from Deutsche Bank, where he was a director in the global markets division's North American structuring group. He will report to Philippe El-Asmar, managing director and head of investor solutions, Americas.
