Beth MacLean will serve as the portfolio manager for leveraged loan investments at Lord Abbett & Co. She joined the firm last month (CIN, 8/28). MacLean reports to Christopher Towle, partner and director of high-yield and convertible investments. She referred calls to a spokesman.
The firm does not currently have a collateralized loan obligation group, the spokesman said and he would not comment on a time frame for doing a CLO. He explained that MacLean is overseeing the initiative and the firm will be looking to add resources over time.
She was formerly a managing director and portfolio manager at Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management. A spokesman declined to comment on who may replace her or a timeframe for that replacement.
