UniCredit drives NPL reduction with Italian SME disposal

UniCredit has sold a €590m portfolio of ‘large ticket’ exposures to two securitization vehicles managed by distressed debt investors.

J-Invest, founded 10 years ago by Jacopo Di Stefano, Alvise Di Stefano and Stefano Giura and focused on distressed debt, has acquired €384 of the UniCredit portfolio, rolling it into a securitization vehicle and adding to the €4bn of NPLs it has acquired during the past decade.
