NPL securitization volumes to improve in 2018

The outlook for securitizations of non-performing loans (NPLs), particularly from Greece, is set to improve in 2018 amid a more widespread pick-up in securitization volumes.

Rising capital costs for holding non-performing loans will spur more banks to sell NPL portfolios next year, according to Cliff Pearce, global head of capital markets at Intertrust Group, a provider of management and administration services to securitization and structured finance transactions.
