American Capital Access, a financial insurance company and manager of collateralized debt obligations, is seeking to add to its structured finance staff as its portfolio of structured investments grows. Maryam Muessel, chief operating officer in New York, says ACA is looking to hire one or two surveillance analysts to cover its portfolio of asset-backed securities. She says the additions are needed for the firm's middle-office functions to support its growing portfolio of structured finance assets; ACA now manages a total of five CDOs, including about $800 million in term ABS. Specifically, Muessel says ACA is looking to hire people with experience in various asset classes, particularly in mortgage-related ABS. The hires would report to Laura Schwartz, head of ABS credit in New York.
