Jim Brophy, corporate salesman at UBS, has been hired by Banc of America Securities, according to Bill Parry, head of U.S. investment-grade sales at BofA. Brophy, who was on vacation last week and could not be reached, will start at BofA next month. Parry said Brophy is likely to come aboard as a managing director in investment-grade sales. Parry declined further comment. Kris Kagel, UBS spokesman, did not return calls by press time.
