Uber’s former head of business development, Ro’i Ehrlich, has joined Arc Analytics as its chief executive.
Arc Analytics was launched in March as a sister company to Arc Ratings, a regulated credit rating agency based in London which is active across structured finance.
Ehrlich told GlobalCapital he originally took the position on an interim basis, as joining the firm was a “new direction from both sides”.
“Overall, I’ve been incredibly impressed by the group’s ambitions and talent. From the very first days it was clear to me that if I have to pick a winning team, this is the one to join,” he said.
Ehrlich joined Uber in 2015. During his nine years with the tech firm, he held multiple roles across Africa and EMEA, finishing as head of business development for Uber Eats.
In 2017, while still at Uber, Ehrlich co-founded Ito Capital, a venture capital firm based in Johannesburg. According to his LinkedIn profile, Ito was sold to “one of South Africa's largest education groups” in 2019.
Arc Analytics launched its first financial tools earlier this year, after emerging from what Ehrlich described as “stealth mode”. It made all of the tools, which include a cash flow simulator and portfolio risk calculator, available free of charge.
The company’s growth strategy involves developing new technology products in-house and acquiring other businesses.
