Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein is looking to add structurers and marketers to its London-based European asset-backed securitization team. The firm is especially interested in hiring French, Spanish and Portuguese structurers to increase its presence in those markets, according to a DrKW ABS official. The firm plans to focus on
e principal finance team together with the ABS team and want securitization mandates and we're prepared to use our balance sheet to get them," added the official.
Last year, DrKW hired Nick Morgan from J.P. Morgan to lead the securitization business as well as adding to its research team. "We were in the fourth division relegation zone, but we're coming up the ranks now," says the official, using a bit of U.K. soccer slang to acknowledge the firm's distance from the top in league table presence. DrKW weighs in at about 30 in the ABS league tables. Currently, the firm is concentrating on winning Portuguese residential mortgage-backed securities mandates.
