Lars Norell and Harin DeSilva, collateral debt obligation structurers, have joined Merrill Lynch from Credit Suisse First Boston, a Merrill Lynch insider says. They follow their former boss from CSFB, Chris Ricciardi, the newly appointed global head of CDO origination and structuring, who also recently joined Merrill (BW, 3/10).
As of last week, neither the new hires nor Ricciardi had started. Michael Duvally, a spokesman at Merrill Lynch, declined to comment on Norell and DeSilva. He said Ricciardi is due to start shortly. Ricciardi could not be reached for comment. Mac Taylor, head of global structured products and Ricciardi's new boss, did not return repeated calls. John Gallagher, a spokesman at CSFB, and John Chrystal, global head of structuring at CSFB, did not return calls seeking comment.
