Goldman Hires Senior Junk Trader From Morgan Stanley

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Goldman Sachs has hired Mike Lilley to fill the new position of v.p. and high-yield trader, according to high-yield officials with knowledge of the hire. Lilley will be based in New York and report to Lester Brafman. He is expected to start work some time in the middle of next month. Brafman declined comment, and Lilley could not be reached.

Lilley joins from Morgan Stanley, where he had worked for several years. A call to Mitch Petrick, head of high-yield at Morgan Stanley, was not returned.

The hire of Lilley is payback of a sort. Earlier this year, Morgan Stanley hired Kevin Corgan, a longtime high-yield trader from Goldman (BW, 3/16).
