Senior I-Grade Saleswoman Resigns From HSBC

Mary Connor has resigned from HSBC Securities USA, where she was a senior corporate bond saleswoman based in New York, according to a person at the firm. Connor, who has four children, will take time off to be with her family. She joined HSBC just over a year ago from Morgan Stanley. She could not be reached, and Pat McDonald, head of fixed-income sales at HSBC, did not return a call.

HSBC has seen a number of high-level departures over the last year in its fixed-income unit, including the dismissal of John Griff, former president of the U.S. unit, and former fixed-income head Ferdie Masucci. (BW, 5/6/02, 6/9, 8/11). In addition, at least one former trader has filed an NASD claims against the firm over compensation (BW, 4/21).
