Banc of America Securities is seeking to hire three or four European fixed-income analysts to replace a number of recent departures and to add to its research effort. London-based Peter Plautt, head of European credit research, says the firm is in the market for analysts to cover industrials, utilities and financial institutions. Last month, Dan Purser who had been covering high-grade and cross-over industrials, left to join the London-based hedge fund Sandell Asset Management. He will fill a similar role at the hedge fund. Iain Gunn, who had been conducting research on distressed, names also left. His next port of call could not be learned. Also, Mike Dolan, a utilities analyst, joined Fidelity Investments earlier in the year.
