Trader Leaves HSBC For Fidelity

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Tim Hartshorn has left HSBC Securities, where he was a senior corporate bond trader based in New York, to join Fidelity Investments in Merrimack, N.H., according to a person familiar with the situation. He is believed to have taken a spot trading high-yield bonds, but that could not be confirmed. Hartshorn did not return a call to his mobile phone. Tom Soviero, high-yield portfolio manager at Fidelity, and Mike Allen, head of corporate bond trading at HSBC, did not return calls.

Hartshorn joined HSBC last year (BW, 4/14) shortly after being let go from Salomon Smith Barney. He was brought to HSBC by Ferdie Masucci, who has since left the firm (BW, 8/11/02).
