PIMCO has hired David Andrews to the position of senior v.p. and credit analyst, reporting to Charles Wyman, head of research. Andrews says he is set to start work June 30, and will cover a variety of sectors including autos, airlines, capital goods and defense. It could not be determined whether the position is newly created, and a call to Wyman was not returned.
Andrews was let go from UBS Warburg earlier this year, when that firm cut its research staff in conjunction with a reorganization aimed at separating research from investment banking (BW, 4/14). He spent two years at UBSW, and ranked third in the Institutional Investor 2002 All-America Fixed-Income Research Team. Prior to joining UBSW, Andrews was a global auto analyst at Moody's Investors Service.
