New York Life Investment Management has hired Mike Pagano as a v.p. and corporate sector specialist--effectively a trader/portfolio manager. New York Life lost two portfolio managers earlier this year (BW, 4/28), but it could not be determined whether additional hires are planned. A call to Don Serek, head of investment grade, was not returned.
Pagano joins from Fiduciary Asset Management in St. Louis. His reporting lines at that firm could not be determined, and he declined to comment other than to confirm his hire and give a brief description of his work history. He has been in the money management business since 1992, and also worked on the sell-side as a salesman at Merrill Lynch in Chicago and at Banc of America Securities in Charlotte.
