Citigroup has hired Stanford Nishikawa as a director and technology analyst from Fleet Securities. While he is believed to have covered only high-yield technology at Fleet, he is expected to cover both high-yield and high-grade at Citigroup, according to a firm official. Nishikawa could not be reached to comment.
It could not be determined who, if anyone, held the technology research slot previously at Citigroup. A call to Bob Waldman, head of research, was referred to Danielle Romero, a firm spokeswoman, who confirmed the hire but declined further comment. Fred Taylor, head of research at Fleet, declined comment. Nishikawa ranked third on the Institutional Investor All-America Fixed-Income Research Team in 2000.
