RBC Adds To High-Yield Effort

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

RBC Capital Markets has added two new senior salesmen and replaced a desk analyst in its high-yield group in Greenwich, Conn., according to Dan Elkaim, the firm's co-head of high-yield. Elkaim says the hires will help the firm make further inroads in select areas of the high-yield market where it sees opportunities, particularly with distressed accounts. He will make further hires if he sees good opportunities to do so.

The salesmen, both v.p.s, are Jeffrey Engel and Spencer Harman. Harman joins from Scotia Capital, while Engel comes from Dickstein & Co., a hedge fund. They will report to Elkaim, who is also head of sales.

Graham Cohen, the desk analyst, also joins as a v.p., reporting to Angus Rogers, the head trader at RBC. Cohen replaces Mark Kaufman, who went to Lazard Freres.
