Banc One Capital Markets is looking to fill a senior investment-grade research slot, and also add a junior-level position. Dave Novosel, head of fixed-income research, says the senior hire would fill the shoes of Jeff Cannon, a former director at the Chicago-based firm who covered the consumer products, cable, media and transportation sectors. Cannon recently resigned to work on private deals at Allstate Corp. Cannon declined to comment when reached at Allstate.
The junior hire is consistent with Banc One's slow but steady growth of its fixed-income sell-side operations, Novosel says. He expects to add an additional one or two analysts in 2004.
