BNY Capital Markets has hired Carmine Urciuoli, according to a person close to him. Urciuoli left Commerzbank Securities last Monday, where he was New York-based head of debt capital markets syndicate.
Urciuoli's exact duties at BNY could not be learned. Calls to Tori Berntsen, president of BNY Capital Markets, were not returned. Urciuoli did not return calls to him at BNY or his mobile phone. Prior to becoming head of DCM at Commerzbank, Urciuoli had been head of credit trading. Ed Mitchell, a Commerzbank spokesman, says Urciuoli left the firm on good terms, and a replacement is under review. He says the firm remains fully committed to the businesses overseen by Urciuoli.
