BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Barclays Capital has hired Robert Petrosinoas a director and analyst covering the utilities sector. He will be based in New York and report to Mark Pibl, head of U.S. high-grade research. Pibl says Petrosino was brought on to replace Kevin Roach, who left earlier this year to work for Pequot Capital Management, a Westport, Conn.-based hedge fund group (BW, 4/27).

Petrosino moves over from John Hancock Advisorsin Boston, where he had spent the last five years, most recently as a v.p. Prior to joining Hancock, Petrosino worked for seven years at Sun Life of Canada(now Sun Life Financial). "It's a chance to bring a different perspective to a sell-side seat, as someone who has worked on the buy-side for 12 years," he says. Howard Green, portfolio manager at Hancock, did not return a call asking about the firm's plans, if any, to replace Petrosino.
