Brian Gordon, formerly a director in structured finance at Fitch Ratings, has left the firm and the structured finance industry, according to a firm official. Gordon left the rating agency, where he worked on quantitative models used in evaluating collateralized debt obligations, at the end of last month to join to join the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the official said. He will work there on developing models that deal with corporate capital requirements.
Jill Zelter, a managing director in CDOs at Fitch, says the rating agency will look to hire one or two professionals in Chicago in light of Gordon's absence, although the hires will be at a more junior level. The rating agency's Windy City office is a vestige of the Duff & Phelps days.
