Barclays ABS Banker Heads To WestLB

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Simon Wood, who had been a securitization banker in the financial institutions group at Barclays Capital in London, has resigned to join WestLB, says John Godfrey, a spokesman at the German bank. Wood starts at WestLB at the end of August and will be a director and senior transactor. He will report to David McCaig, regional head of securitization origination for Europe and Asia.

At Barclays, Wood reported to Allen Appen, co-head of securitization responsible for financial institutions. A Barclays securitization banker says the firm will announce a number of new hires in the coming weeks. The new hires will replace Wood and a few other bankers who have recently departed the financial institutions securitization group.
