Deutsche Bank 15-Year Trader Departs

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Doug Babcock, the 15-year mortgage-backed security trader at Deutsche Bank, has departed the firm to enter his family's business in Florida, according to a Deutsche Bank MBS insider. Babcock, who had been at the firm for two years, left last Monday and was unavailable for comment. Trip Mestanas, the firm's head of pass-through trading, confirmed the departure, saying that he and colleague Dan Levene will assume Babcock's duties. Mestanas says that he will eventually seek to hire a replacement within the fourth quarter. Babcock had previously worked at Salomon Smith Barney.
