Credit Suisse First Boston has hired two structurers for its asset-backed origination team in New York. Alvin Saini and David O'Brien started working at CSFB last Monday. Wayne Olson, a managing director in the asset-backed group, said through a spokesman that Saini joins as a collateral analyst, and will be charged with evaluating the underlying assets on non-mortgage backed structured finance transactions brought to market by the bank. However, Saini is on the structuring side and is not an analyst in respect to writing and disseminating research. O'Brien will be a structurer. The two are replacements and will work as generalists on the team. Additional information was not available.
CSFB, which in the late 1990s was atop the U.S. league tables, came in sixth in ABS underwriting in the U.S. for the first half of this year, according to Thomson Financial.
