Street CDO Structurer Joins Hedge Fund

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Steve Kasoff has left Deutsche Bank in New York to join Elliott Management Corp., a hedge fund, also in New York. Kasoff, who was a director in collateralized debt obligations at Deutsche Bank, declined further comment on his move. He started at the hedge fund at the end of July, according to someone familiar with the situation, who says he had structured cash CDOs as part of the German bank's global CDO group. Deutsche Bank lead-managed the second-most CDOs for the first half of the year, according to Thomson Financial.

At Deutsche Bank, Kasoff reported to Dean Aotani, a managing director in the CDO group in New York. He did not return a call and it could not be determined if Kasoff will be replaced.
