Morgan Stanley Analyst Changes Hats

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Laura Heins, v.p. at Morgan Stanley, has been transferred from the asset-backed research group to the corporate group, says Chip Schorin, executive director of securitization research. Heins, who covered home equities, student loans, rate reduction and manufactured housing bonds, will cover specialty finance companies and real-estate investment trusts. The thinking is that a lot of specialty finance companies rely on the securitization markets and her past experience in ABS will be useful from the corporate perspective, says a firm official. Schorin says Heins' spot will be filled at some point, although there are no immediate plans to add another analyst to the ABS team. Heins declined to comment and referred queries to Ryan Marshall, head of corporate bond and securitized products research, who confirmed the move.
