Lehman Brothers once again took home the top honors in Institutional Investor magazine's 2003 All-America Fixed-Income Research Team, released last week. Investors selected 15 Lehman bond analysts as the best in their sector--equal to the amount of first-place finishers from Credit Suisse First Boston and J.P. Morgan Securities combined. Those two firms came in second and third place overall. Lehman's tally was up from 12 first-place analysts last year. It has now topped the survey for four consecutive years.
Among the winners were Jack Malvey and his team in the general fixed-income strategy slot, while Sunita Ganapati and David Heike took home top honors for collateralized debt obligation and asset-backed research, respectively. Most of the firms remained relatively static in their places from last year, with the exception of Merrill Lynch. It dropped to tenth overall, from fifth last year.
