Henderson Global Investors is searching for a mortgage-backed securities analyst. William Nicoll, head of credit in London, says the new analyst is needed to strengthen the firm's research team and to be prepared for the future. "The ABS market is expanding, it's still relatively young, but we see it as important going forward," says Nicoll. Henderson already has a team of 24 people managing asset-backeds and structured products.
The firm recently hired Jerry Donahue to cover structured products and private placements on its collateralized debt obligation team, says Dominic Powell, director of fixed interest and credit. Donahue joins from AXA Investment Management. Henderson has launched two CDOs in the past three years, Melchior and Balthazar. The firm is just about to start marketing its third deal, Aqualine, a collateralized loan obligation, via Goldman Sachs.
