Cantor Fitzgerald has hired Matt Baber as a senior mortgage-backed securities trader. Baber, who joins from Advest Securities where he held a similar role, started last week, according to Steve Bischoff , head of MBS trading and to whom Baber now reports. The hire, for a new role, is part of Cantor's ongoing effort to jumpstart a mortgage-backed sales and trading operation (BW, 12/15). Bischoff also recently joined the firm.
