New Hedge Fund Adds Portfolio Managers

Rajan Dabholkar and Greg Rosenberg have joined Vega Asset Management as senior portfolio managers, according to Rajiv Sobti, president of Vega Plus Capital, a recently launched hedge fund.

Rajan Dabholkar and Greg Rosenberg have joined Vega Asset Management as senior portfolio managers, according to Rajiv Sobti, president of Vega Plus Capital, a recently launched hedge fund.

Dabholkar previously was a mortgage-backed researcher at J.P. Morgan Securities; Rosenberg was a trader in the financial institutions desk at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. He had reported to Mike Ice, managing director of the financial institutions group at Dresdner, according to Karen Laureano-Rikardsen, spokeswoman. At J.P. Morgan, Dabholkar reported to David Montano, managing director and head of mortgage-backed securities research. He did not return calls.

Sobti, who recently left BlackRock Financial Management as co-head of fixed income to join Vega (www.bondweek.com, 4/9), said both Dabholkar and Rosenberg will manage the new fund that will largely focus on liquid products such as mortgages, swaps, Treasuries and agencies.
