Goldman Sachs has hired Brian Jacoby, executive director at Morgan Stanley, as a v.p. and credit research analyst covering the auto sector. Jacoby, who was a second-place ranked manufacturing analyst on Institutional Investor's All America Fixed-Income Research team last year (the poll didn't have a separate auto category), started at Goldman in mid-July. He declined comment. Michael DuVally, spokesman for Goldman, confirmed the hire but declined further comment. Jennifer Mooney, spokeswoman for Morgan Stanley, did not provide further information on Jacoby's departure or replacement by press time.
