DDJ Taps Senior Analyst

Distressed debt shop DDJ Capital Management has hired Jim Kime, a credit analyst at $600 million hedge fund Feingold O'Keeffe Capital, as senior analyst.

Distressed debt shop DDJ Capital Management has hired Jim Kime, a credit analyst at $600 million hedge fund Feingold O'Keeffe Capital, as senior analyst. The firm added Kime -- and Patrick Flynn from Putnam Investments earlier this year -- as its assets have increased by 20-25% over the past year, said Mike Forrester, coo. DDJ now manages roughly $3 billion and is seeking to hire one additional senior analyst.

Kime will initially cover the steel and movie theater sectors. The investment team now constitutes 15 professionals, nine of whom are analysts. Kime said he made the move because he wanted to work on distressed and equity investments. At Feingold, he covered high-yield bonds and bank loans. Calls to a Feingold official were not returned by press time. DDJ was formed in 1996 by Fidelity Investments officials David Breazzano and Judy Mencher.
