Goldman Sachs has grabbed another loan player from Charlotte, hiring Bill Dobson, former head of trading at Wachovia Securities. At the end of August, Goldman hired Tom Stein, a managing director with Wachovia's loan group. Dobson will be starting at the end of the month as a v.p. trading par names and reporting to Mark DeNatale, head of loan trading. A Wachovia spokeswoman confirmed Dobson's departure and said no decision has been made regarding his replacement.
Dobson led Wachovia to a first place ranking for Best Middle Market Coverage in Loan Market Week's Best Trading Desk Awards 2005. He could not be reached and a Goldman spokesman declined comment.
