UBS is expected to launch syndication of a $194.4 million deal for Southern Graphic Systems Wednesday. The deal partially backs the company's $410 million acquisition by Citigroup Venture Capital from Alcoa. The deal consists of a five-year, $35 million revolver; a six-year, $40 million acquisition financing and a six-year, $119.4 million term loan. Pricing was not available last week.
Based in Louisville, Ky., Southern Graphic provides packaging design solutions to enhance brand identity and shorten clients 'time-to-market' demands. It has more than 30 locations in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Mexico. The company became a part of Alcoa through the Reynolds Metals Co. acquisition in 2000. Deutsche Bank advised Alcoa on this sale. An official at Alcoa could not be reached.
