The Bond Market Association has promoted Jill Hershey to senior v.p. for legislative affairs at the BMA's Washington, D.C, office. Prior to her promotion, Hershey served as v.p. of legislative affairs since 2003. Hershey's new role will expand her strategic and management responsibilities while she continues to represent the BMA before Congress, according to John Vogt, executive v.p and head of the BMA's Washington branch.
Hershey's new responsibilities include overseeing three government affairs professionals that cover legislation in taxation, securities regulation, bankruptcy law, insolvency law, derivatives and pension regulation as well as other issues that could have an effect on the bond market. Hershey will, as she did in her previous position, report to Vogt.
Prior to her appointment at the BMA, Hershey worked on Capital Hill for a decade. Her last position on the Hill was as director of tax policy for Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa).
She also covered banking and securities law issues. Hershey was unavailable for comment.
