The EM Research Achievement Awards are chosen by the editorial team of Emerging Markets, following consultation with buy-side sovereign credit analysts and portfolio managers.
The aim of these awards is to highlight outstanding accomplishments of sell-side financial institutions in providing macroeconomic and investment strategy advice in emerging markets, rather than to pick out the bank with the most comprehensive research operation in a particular region.
A wide range of criteria was considered, including quality of published analysts’ judgements, knowledge of country fundamentals and market technicals, value of written reports, analysts’ accessibility and innovation.
