Credit Suisse First Boston has rejiggered the duties of some of its investment-grade fixed-income analysts. Thierry Perrein, director and real estate investment trusts analyst, has taken over insurance industry coverage from Kevin Morley, managing director and manufacturing analyst. Morley will now focus exclusively on manufacturing, as spread widening in the sector means that it requires more attention, according to Tony Smith, managing director and head of U.S. corporate bond research at CSFB. Perrein will continue to cover REITs.
Smith has also appointed Van Hesser, a director and analyst responsible for coverage of non-banking financial institutions, to the position of global financial services coordinator. In that position, Hesser will integrate his own research, along with that of Smith, who follows U.S. banks, and CSFB financial services research out of London, Tokyo and Singapore, to help clients make relative value comparisons between financial services institutions worldwide. Perrein was the top-ranked REITs analyst on the 2001 Institutional Investor Fixed-Income Research Team, while Morley and Hesser both ranked third in manufacturing and non-banking financial institutions. Smith was an II runner-up for U.S. banking.
