Morgan Stanley has hired JPMorgan's Jerry Van Koolbergen as an executive director reporting to Laya Khadjavi, global head of collateralized debt obligations at the bank. He will be a CDO marketer and is starting July 5. A Morgan Stanley spokesman confirmed the hire. Calls to a JPMorgan spokeswoman were not returned.
At JPMorgan, it is believed Van Koolbergen reported to Brian Zeitlin, global head of structured credit. There he was a CDO marketer, structuring collateralized loan obligations and ABS. Zeitlin did not return a call.
