SRT securitization issuance on track to beat last year’s record

Significant risk transfer (SRT) securitization volumes this year are set to beat the record issuance seen in 2018, according to sources active in the sector.

SRT issuance is expecting to jump by 20%-50% compared with last year’s volumes, according to market sources, with the increase in issuance matching investor demand as negative yields drive buysiders into synthetics, which often offer higher returns than traditional flow ABS assets.
